How many of you feel like you are going around in circles? Tired of looking for fresh names. Tired of doing research. Tired of being rejected or doing the rejection. Tired of having your whole focus in life concentrated on finding your bashert at the expense of being productive at your day job.
It may be time to keep your day job and at the same time, freshen up how you date and find dates.
Avoid burn out and expand your network at the same time.
You simply need to evaluate your day-to-day routine so that you can identify the opportunities you currently have to meet someone and the opportunities you’re missing out on. If the suggestions are far and few in between, time to assess what are doing on a daily basis to increase the pool of people you are considering.
Do things different. Get different results.
SHAKE UP YOUR ROUTINE
What does your daily schedule look like?
Wake up – Daven/shul – Off to work/yeshiva – Come home – Eat – Shul/shiur/rest up for next day.
Home-work-gym or grocery store-home. Repeat.
The following are just a few ideas to get you started.
1] Make sure to interact with different people even if you go to the same shul to daven every day. Move around. Maybe daven Mincha and Maariv on Shabbos at a different shtibbel.
2] Change your commute routine. Walk a different route. Carpool or take the train. Grab a coffee on the way to work from different stores.
3] Don’t just sit at your desk for lunch. Take a breather. Walk around the neighborhood. Meet new faces. Eat lunch in different cafeterias. Call a shadchan you had been meaning to call; just never found the time.
4] After work if you go shopping, turn off your phone so you can interact with other people. Vary the stores you frequent. Don’t rush. Take your time.
5] Don’t hide when you kick up your heels at night. See if there is any event, workshop, shiur you can attend with a friend if not alone.
Be seen and be heard.
Within routine, shake it up!
Simple changes can create more opportunities.
